Improving access to PET/CT

Graham Plant, Consultant Radiologist, North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke & North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust explains;

“PET/CT is a major advance in terms of identifying the major cancer groups, and I would say it changes what we do in at least a third of cases.”

“It wasn’t easily available two years ago. The new contract has
made it significantly easier to make it available to larger numbers of patients.”

“InHealth have been delivering the contract for the last nine months as part of the overall NHS PET/CT South contract, and there were some teething problems at the start but InHealth have tried very hard to resolve any issues with the service.”

“The reporting turnaround is very fast and it has achieved very high scores in independently audited results.”

“The staff are very helpful, though, and the procedure is quick and easy for patients with just a small injection in the arm.”
